To get the treasure chest in the villagers house, you must climb to the top of the roof and go down the chimney. You can only do this after you have fought the werewolf.

After you kill nerude and his statue is totaled, the people of the nerude will give you a water cape. Go to the whirlpool at the pond and you will enter the fairy's lair , find the fairy and you will get something special.
